When I relocated to North Carolina two years ago, I had no idea what my long-term job prospects would be, so I’m very excited to be stepping back into library administration as the new Associate Dean for Learning & Research at Appalachian State University Libraries. In this newly created role, I am overseeing a broad portfolio that fits well with my background, including HR processes, the liaison program, the Information Literacy team, the Music Library, the Instructional Materials Center, and the Technology Services Division.

I’m also thrilled to share that I was granted tenure and the status of full professor—a meaningful milestone for me after being non-tenure track at my previous institution. Now five months in, I feel especially fortunate to work with a fantastic team and to be doing work that directly impacts both our students and library employees.
